Fall is my favorite

I love fall...the leaves changing color, the temperature dropping, football season... these are a few of my favorite things.  For some reason, fall never seems in full swing until the end of October.  Maybe it is because it's the South and it takes forever to get below 80 degrees.  This week, I finally feel like it's official.  Maybe because it is Halloween week??  Whatever the reason, I love it.
Last night, Smyrna had their last regular season football game.  It was 60 degrees and absolutely perfect - except we lost.  Camryn and Daddy are all decked out in their purple.
I dropped Camryn off at school this morning.  I am sure we will have more Halloween pictures to post later --- This is a picture of Camryn and Tanner (Patrick and Raye's  youngest boy) all decked out in their Halloween outfits.

While we are on the subject of Tanner, Camryn loves him!  She crawls over to him on the mats at school, laughs and giggles at him and plays with him all the time.  The teachers say that they are going to get married one day, but David doesn't find this the least bit funny (too early to talk about dating & marriage).  Mrs. Rachel sent me a picture of them from a few weeks ago...Hold on to your seats, folks.  That's our sweet little Camryn laying one BIG smooch on Tanner.

Just makes me laugh!
Happy Friday to all!

We're in trouble now

So, it's been a few weeks of Camryn scooting around on the floor.  She's not in a full blown crawl, but army-crawling all over the place.  She's discovered she can move faster on the hardwood and kitchen floor. She's even started chasing Abby.  Abby does not care for this and slowly backs away from her.

Now....onto more Big Girl things... On Sunday, I was in the kitchen washing & preparing bottles (one of our least favorite daily chores). I had Camryn's blanket and toys sprawled out across the floor. I kept an eye on her as she shuffled over to the bonus room stairs. And then.....she grabs onto the carpet and pulls herself up. Luckily, the camera was on the kitchen counter and I snapped a picture.

Look at those little toes gripping onto the floor.  My dad says she has toes made for rock climbing.  Those are definitely her daddy's genes.
Now look how proud she was of herself -Boy, are we in trouble now!

Technical Difficulties

I have had some technical difficulties with the blog so I am very behind on the updates!

Anyhow, little Miss Camryn is into everything. She is doing the army crawl and is quite good at it. She can scoot all over our house in just a matter of seconds. She is also sitting up on her own. It is adorable because she is so tiny but looks like such a big girl.  This is a toy that some of the teachers at Westview gave her.  She loves it, and quite frankly, David and I like it, too.  It keeps her busy....for a few minutes.

We went to the doctor last week for her 6 month visit. Camryn weighs 15 pounds even and is 26 inches long. She is such a skinny-mini!

We finally broke down and bought a high chair.  We'd been using the Bumbo seat but Camryn totally outgrew it.  It had become too much of a fiasco!  She loves sitting up tall in the highchair so she can see the entire kitchen.

We started baby food last Thursday. Yummy squash. She really liked it. Onto green veggies...

The pre-school that Camryn attends is fabulous.  It is at our church and we love it.  The teachers are amazing - they love Camryn and she loves them.  Mrs. Amy sent me a picture message of Camryn "painting".  Here's her first school project - definitely refrigerator-worthy:

And lastly, this is my (newest) favorite picture.  We bought the pumpkin for David's Dad's Birthday.  Camryn has this Crimson gingham dress that I've been dying for her to wear.  Of course, by the time she grew into it, it is 40 degrees outside.  So I decided to take a picture of her with the pumpkin - inside!  Happy Birthday, Granddaddy Bill!

Happy Fall!

Over the weekend, David and I decided to carve pumpkins.  Can you believe that in all the 14 years that David and I have been together that we have never carved pumpkins?!  Funny what having a baby will make you do.  Here are our pumpkins in all their glory on our front steps - day and night versions.  Can you tell who carved which pumpkin?

Then I decided that Camryn might need some special little pumpkins of her own.  I painted these to go on our mantle.  I hope they last through Thanksgiving!

So much of this blog has been dedicated to Camryn.  I thought it would be fun to show some of the projects that I am working on.  I am always painting (mostly for other people) so I thought this would be a good venue to show them off.  People always ask what I've done recently so I will start sharing...
Here's a Halloween wreath that I made for our house.  Fun black feather boas, grosgrain ribbon and a store-bought sign
