last week, we headed to orange beach, al for our annual family vacation. we missed last year because camryn was so small. we were so excited to introduce her to the pool, the beach and all the fun that comes with it....and we weren't going to let the bp oil spill spoil our week.
friday night, we drove to tuscaloosa to stay with maw maw. we got in very late but got up the next morning for our ritual breakfast at cracker barrel and some play time before we finished our roadtrip down i-65.
you can't go to cracker barrel without enjoying the rocking chairs, right?
maw maw just wanted a picture with camryn but it is almost impossible to make her sit still.
we were concerned about how she would do on the eight hour drive. {which is now nine hours with a child}. she had a few irritable moments, but heck, we ALL do after that long.
here are some of my favorite pictures {beware - there are many!}:
first dip in the pool
swimming with mommy {she was soooo good to keep her hats on all week}.
a little break for a snack {the only way we could get her to sit still for a few minutes}
off to the beach for the first time {what a good daddy to carry that hot pink wagon}
she was a little unsure about the sand at first but she quickly overcame!
she LOVED the ocean and the crashing waves. NOTE: bp, you better get that damn oil cleaned up before we bring our baby back next year....i'm just saying....
all smiles under our tent
picture time with cousins
at the crab trap - such a kid friendly place to eat. it has a beach playground out back.
after a long week, she did a lot of sleeping on the way home.
we had a great week and can't wait until next year.
back to the grind tomorrow....
