seven years ago today....

...the air conditioner went out in the church.  june 28th in the south...needless to say, it was hot.  luckily it was fixed before the ceremony.
can't believe we've been married for 7 years.  if you count dating, we've been together for 15years this fall. fifteen years, people.  we were just babies.  we've come a long way.  happy anniversary to us.

david sent me these flowers today.  he rocks at flowers!

father's day part two {gifts}

so, i had to wait to post this because the gifts were still in the mail.  david and i had some miscommunication and he sent the first half (shirts) of our fathers' gifts and i hadn't finished the most important second part.  anywho, they got shipped a few days apart and they just arrived.  now that joe, granddaddy bill and pops have received their gifts, i can show you what i  camryn whipped up for them.

sand dollars with camryn's hand-print

if you ask me, there is nothing more precious than children's hand prints.
for this project, i must admit that i had to walk into one of those cheesy souvenir shops at the beach.  i can't believe i liked those places as a kid.  good grief.

so i got the sand dollars while we were on vacation.  i hoped to make these while we were on vacation
{yes, i schelped the paint, ribbon and glue all the way there & back} but never got around to it.

 we painted camryn's hand and slapped it on each one.  i painted happy father's day on the back.  i used my trusty gorilla glue and glued a hanger on the back.

then i tied a polka dot ribbon into a bow, and voila, three father's day gifts.
we also made one for us to keep.  can't give away everything, right?

i thought they turned out great.  hope joe, granddaddy bill and pops loved them, too.

btw - i must note that my dad {whom i am referring to as pops} has not been named  yet.  camryn is the first grandchild so she gets to choose.  we'll see what she comes up with soon enough :)

ponies

no, not the kind that you have to feed....the ones you wear in your hair.  camryn wore her first ponytails to school on monday.
trust me - she knew she looked cute.  she practically strutted into school!

happy father's day

what a fun day.
sippy cup of milk in the bed {in daddy's spot, mind you}.
get ready for church
{insert trip to grocery store}
a little lunch - camryn ate a peach like a grown-up

whoopie pies for daddy
{think oreo cakesters only yummier}
{insert naptime}
then a ride in my new wagon
a little playtime in the pool

"is this thing a water fountain?"

on the playset
and then some running
whew----we are all exhausted but it was such a fun day.

to our fathers - we love you and hope you had a great day!  we miss you!
love, david, courtney & camryn

just beachy

last week, we headed to orange beach, al for our annual family vacation.  we missed last year because camryn was so small.  we were so excited to introduce her to the pool, the beach and all the fun that comes with it....and we weren't going to let the bp oil spill spoil our week.

friday night, we drove to tuscaloosa to stay with maw maw.  we got in very late but got up the next morning for our ritual breakfast at cracker barrel and some play time before we finished our roadtrip down i-65.
you can't go to cracker barrel without enjoying the rocking chairs, right?
maw maw just wanted a picture with camryn but it is almost impossible to make her sit still.
we were concerned about how she would do on the eight hour drive.  {which is now nine hours with a child}.  she had a few irritable moments, but heck, we ALL do after that long.

here are some of my favorite pictures {beware - there are many!}:
first dip in the pool

swimming with mommy {she was soooo good to keep her hats on all week}.

a little break for a snack {the only way we could get her to sit still for a few minutes}
off to the beach for the first time {what a good daddy to carry that hot pink wagon}

she was a little unsure about the sand at first but she quickly overcame!
she LOVED the ocean and the crashing waves.  NOTE:  bp, you better get that damn oil cleaned up before we bring our baby back next year....i'm just saying....

all smiles under our tent
picture time with cousins
at the crab trap - such a kid friendly place to eat.  it has a beach playground out back.

after a long week, she did a lot of sleeping on the way home.
we had a great week and can't wait until next year.

back to the grind tomorrow....

may 2010 recap

so, i am a little behind on my posting.  here's a quick recap of some things that happened in may....

camryn going to her first day in the toddler room {doesn't it look like the hall could just swallow her
up?}.

finally, turned front-facing in her car seat
a quick run through the sprinklers after a hard day at school
i turned these:
into these:
a little playtime outside
and an inflatable pool in the back yard
to practice for the beach.
beach pictures coming soon....
