books galore

we are very fortunate that camryn has a lot of books and loves to read them.  unfortunately, we didn't have a good method of organizing.

like most babies, her room has evolved as she has changed and grown.

we/she needs a little more than a crib and a comfy chair now.

here's what her room has been looking like for the past couple of weeks:
humidifier in the middle of the floor to fight off the sickies
cords running amuck {super-kid safe} and a pile of books that we rummage through every night

i didn't want to invest a lot because, again, this room will be ever changing.  i found a little bookcase at work that i was able to score and the corner looks much better now:

a little order in our lives!
i love the shelf.  we were able to consolidate the books, humidifier and cd player to a small area.
not to mention the cords run along the base board which is much safer.
the fabric owl bookends were a gift from my brother and SIL for christmas.  they are perfect for camryn's room because they are soft but heavy enough to hold up the books.  no guarantees that they won't be be moved to another room.

i realize that the book stacks won't always be this neat, but you gotta start somewhere, right?

  1. how funny that you just posted this... same dilemna at our house recently. We finally organized and put books on a bookshelf. I was so excited that it was nice and neat! ha! lasted one day and they're back all over the floor, etc. However, how blessed we are that our little gals love reading! Our new fave book is Five Little Monkeys.

  2. Today I purchased (4) 71" bookshelves from Target...2 for M's room, and 2 for W's room. And a bazillion containers. I told Mike--we have got to organize UP! cute bookends!
