new jewelry {kitchen hardware}

but not the kind you are thinking of.
not a new necklace or diamond stud earrings.  no new rings or bracelets. not jewels for me.

for our kitchen & bath cabinets.

from the day we moved into this house, our kitchen has been our least favorite room in our house.  sounds crazy right?  usually a kitchen can make or break the purchase of a home.  it did in our last house.

but you see, we really liked the rest of the house.  and i have some vision of what could be for our kitchen.  i have the vision just not the C.A.S.H.  isn't that always the problem?

we've made a few strides in terms of our kitchen upgrades:

we got a new dishwasher

and although i never blogged it, we changed out our light fixtures from these flying saucers

to these new beauties

but something has bothered me from day 1 in this house.

the cabinet hardware.

something about it says 'southwest' to me.

but what makes me even crazier is how they get turned and don't line up.  UGH.

it's silly.  i know.  but i.just.can't.take.it!

i've been searching in stores and online for hardware but DANG that stuff can get pricey.  i should know this since i designed kitchens and baths in my former job.

i finally found some at a reasonable price on knob depot.

for under $150, we changed out all of the hardware in our house.

 i've always loved cup pulls!

 and these babies will always be lined up.  my OCD heart rejoices!

isn't it funny sometimes how little things make all of the difference?

i hope to continue to move this kitchen to a "look" that fits our style a little more but right now, i am happy with the small strides we are making!
