yes, peeps. i am still here. i have not posted in quite some time. maybe it is because my head is swimming. i've started so many little projects and have finished nothing. nada. i finally sat down and made an "order of operations" list today. the weather has been so nice around here that we've been having fun playing outside instead of finishing projects. but i can't complain about that.
we started a project last weekend {that has yet to be finished}. it was outside so camryn had hang with us while we worked on it. luckily, nan & joe gave her a water table for her birthday so it kept her occupied for a while.
but back to the original intent of this post.
our dining room. this is a long project in the making. if you remember from this post back in 2010 i painted the dining room.
and i still love the color. wedgewood grey by sherwin williams.
and it sat empty for two years. well, it was usually littered with toys if we're being truthful.
you may have noticed a little change in the dining room in this post. erin even posted a comment about the recent additions.
finally, we purchased some furniture. this is another one of those "i feel grown-up" moments. true dining room furniture.
first, i ordered a table. it is from this company.
i love the simple lines and the roughed up finish. i love that we can spread out projects and not be worried about scratching up the top.
it's just beautiful.
secondly, my fave. we purchased a cabinet from here.
read: storage
cue the angels singing:
rows of dishes, all neatly tucked into place
and out of our guest room closet.
i love the upper shelves. i love all of my white dishes in one place with the pops of bright colors.
i hope to find more items for splashes of color. i'm thinking a trip to anthropologie is required :)
ignore the pile of shoes in the corner.
i know we still need chairs, window treatments and something for the walls but i am very satisfied with these two pieces.
i have a pinterest board for inspiration so we shall see where that leads....

go court! Love your choices. I'm sure you'll be adding some upholstered chairs? I'm working on my dining room (again), too...
ReplyDeletethanks, judith. yes, upholstered chairs at the ends with wood chairs in the middle. but my checkbook says i should wait. can't wait to see your dining room!!
DeleteI love it, Courtney! I remember the "grown up" feeling when we bought ours... I am still very proud of it, and know that you will always be proud, too.
ReplyDeleteIt's very pretty, and you will LOVE that top. We have NEVER (also sinful) eaten at our's and it can't even be used for a catch-all, nor projects, because the top is so fragile. It has two small scratches, which is frustrating, but what to do???
Good for you on your china and other dishes. I have used several pieces of mine over time, but until we moved into our first house, a lot of mine was packed up, too. And to be honest, if I had to do it over, I would prob not have registered for china. But hey, small town in the south, that's what everybody does, and so I followed suit! If you get out of the south, people think it's crazy!!! I kind of agree... ;)
Can't wait to see what you decide on chairs! It's really pretty!
i know what you mean about formal china - sometimes i wished we wouldn't have registered for it. but that might have caused an uproar in our small town :)
Deletei hope we make a point to use this room - even if it is for homework and craft projects!
